Apple Day

We restarted Apple Day in 2011 to celebrate our rich heritage of fruit growing and the key role of the Long Ashton Research Station (1903-2003) which was a national centre of research and development around apples. Ribena was invented there, as a government initiative to encourage vitamin intake amongst children.

Apple Day takes place at the Community Centre, normally the first Sunday in October, apple pressing, café, live music, demonstrations, children’s activities and much more. The pandemic means no apple day in 2020 or 2021, but watch out for our return in 2022!

If you want more information or get involved, please contact Sam or Al either by email on [email protected] or go to our FaceBook page AppleDayLA.
